Ignite receives no funding from the University of Texas. For this reason, we hold various fundraising events throughout the school year, such as dodgeball and volleyball tournaments, to cover the expenses of the retreat. We also rely heavily on church and individual support, as these donations make up 40% of our fundraising goal each year.
This year's fundraising goal is $20,000. During the 2008-2009 school year, we raised around $14,500, but we have faith that the Lord will provide for needs, be it $20,000 or less. We have filed the paperwork to receive tax exempt status from the IRS and are currently awaiting approval. By December 2010, we hope to be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization! For now, our Employer Identification Number (EIN) is: 27-3221402
